Step 1: The oven should be heated to 450 degrees F. This is the right temperature for the potato to become deliciously crisp. The oven should be extremely hot, to ensure that the potato skins become crispy.

Step 2: You should prepare the baking sheet to finely bake the potatoes. If you happen to have the cool rack made of wire, you should place it on the top of a baking sheet to ensure that the potatoes cook evenly across all sides. If you don’t have wire racks it is possible to place the potatoes directly on oven racks with the help of baking sheets below or cook the potato on a foil lined.

Step 3: Make sure you poke the potato in all directions with the knife. Because no one would like to handle exploding potatoes. It also helps to absorb the fragrance of herbs and seasoning.

Step 4: First bake: To make your potatoes correctly baked, you should bake the potato in two rounds! The first one bakes for around 25 minutes or so, or until the skin begins to feel dry and somewhat wrinkled.

Step 5: You should apply some butter with the help of a brush until it melted or you can use olive oil. Next, carefully take the potato out of the oven. Make use of a pastry brush to paint the potato with the melted butter equally across all sides. Sprinkle the potato with some salt over it to make it somewhat salty. After that, place the potato on the baking sheet facing the other way so that it will cook evenly across both sides.

Step 6: Second bake: Bake for another 20 minutes. After that, carefully use an oven glove to press the potato as they are hot to determine if it is completely cooked. If the insides are tender and soft, and it gives when pressure is applied, take it from oven. If not, cook in increments of 5 minutes until your potatoes are cooked to serve. Cooking times will vary based on what size you choose for your potato however, they take about 45 to 55 minutes to completely cook.

Step 7: Slice, squeeze, and fluff add seasoning and serve! Then, cut the potato in half lengthwise using the help of a paring knife. Give it an easy squeeze to open it up, then fluff the insides using a fork, and then add your favorite toppings or seasonings. Then a perfectly delicious baked potato will now be yours to enjoy!
