Let’s talk about the specialty of Indian Cuisine and why it is so popular

India’s cuisine is one of the most varied and appreciated in the world. It is distinguished by its subtle and sophisticated use of different herbs and spices, vegetables and fruits from across India.

Speciality of Indian Cuisine 

There are many cooking styles and they vary from one region to the next. The main categories are South Indian and North Indian. India is well-known for its multi-cuisine offerings in many restaurants and hotels, and it is the best example of unity in diversity.

Indian cuisine is around 5000 years old and each region has its own culture, traditions and religions that impact its food. Hindus are more likely to eat vegetarian dishes and Muslims eat meat dishes. Over the centuries, the common thread has been the distinctive mixing of spices that gives Indian cuisine its flavor.

Uniqueness of Indian Cuisine

Indian cuisine is loved by everyone and it is just not tasty, it is very healthy too. Our cuisine is made of a blend of different spices and they are known for unlimited health benefits. This proves Indian food is healthy and so tasty. Indian dishes are known for their unique flavors and include around 7 ingredients in one dish without overlapping the aroma of other spices.

North Indian Cuisine: North India is known for its extreme climates. The summers are extremely hot and the winters cold. North Indian curries often have thick, mildly spicy, and creamy gravies. Even in everyday food, dried fruits and nuts are quite common.

In the preparation of both sweet and savory dishes, dairy products such as milk, cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, and clarified butter play an important part. Indian bread can be preferred to rice, if the rich variety of Indian bread is any indication.

The region is famous for its tandoori and breads, which are baked in clay tandoor ovens. It also has stuffed parathas, which are flat Indian breads with various vegetarian and non-vegetarian fillings. Rice can also be used to make elaborate biryanis or pulaos.

Bengali Cuisine: Panchphoron is a term that refers to five essential spices: mustard, fenugreek, cumin, aniseed and black cumin seeds. The perfect combination of sweet and spicy flavors is the hallmark of Bengali cuisine.

Gujarati Cuisine: Traditional Gujarati food is mostly vegetarian and high in nutritional value. Gujarati thali is a collection of delicious dishes. Gujarati cuisine is diverse and every dish can be prepared in a different way.

Kashmiri Cuisine: The cuisine we enjoy today in Kashmiri restaurants has evolved over time. Kashmiri food and cuisine is based on the traditional food of Kashmiri Pandits and now It has taken many of the elements of Central Asia, Persia, and Afghanistan’s traditional cuisines.

Mughlai Cuisine: Mughlai cuisine, which dates back to the Mughal Empire’s time, is one of the most well-known cuisines. Mughlai cuisine is a collection of dishes prepared in the homes of royal Mughal Emperors. Indian cuisine is influenced primarily by the Mughal cooking style.

Punjabi Cuisine: There are many delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes in Punjabi cuisine. The spice content can range from low to moderately spicy too high. People of all ethnicities enjoy Punjabi food. Home cooking in Punjab is different from restaurant cooking.

Rajasthani Cuisine: Rajasthani cuisine is mostly vegetarian, and it offers an amazing variety of delicious dishes. Although the spice content in Rajasthani cuisine is higher than other Indian cuisines it is still delicious. Most Rajasthanis cook with ghee. Rajasthani cuisine is known for its delicious sweets and spicy curries.

South Indian Cuisine: South Indian cuisine is well-known for its low-calorie, light dishes. South India’s traditional cuisine is primarily rice-based. South Indian cuisine is known for its delicious mixture of rice and lentils that results in mouthwatering dishes like vadas, dosas, and uttapams.
